HELP! Okay i’m …
HELP! Okay i’m thinking of recording the band i’m in at the moment, firstly to get our ideas saved, and also in the long run i think it’s going to be useful to put together tracks using software like cubase. I will be getting a new pc tower soon, which will have 2 gb ram or higher. However i’m inexperienced and all this studio jargon about inferaces/outputs ect is confusing. What do i need to get started? I have watched this vid and it helped a bit but i am still lost. Thanks in advance.

there are schools …
there are schools that teach engineering, like Fullsail in Orlando, but they dont teach you how to be a producer, you have to be in the industry and bust for years as far as I know. I know the producer that just did the new Godsmack record (unreleased as of yet), Dave Fortman. He’s a cool guy from Louisiana, did work on my friends band (Atomship) so that’s how I meet him. He was a guitarist in Ugly Kid Joe prior to producing and it’s taken him a long time to get where he’s at now.

Yeah, I am now the …
Yeah, I am now the AV crew of my campus. And ya, its really kinda intimidating to look at the sound console initially. It really looked like a sea of knobs. But once you get to understand that you should look at each and every single channel vertically, down the console. It wont looks as scary already. However, WTF 56 channels!!! that’s A LOT!!!
