    sountracksband,
what do you know about anything? Are you even out of high school? I’m not bitter and my life is by no means “fucked up”. This piece is an infomercial. Kids like you get filled up with helium about the great studio scene in L.A., but L.A. chews and spits out naive youngsters by the thousands… I know “very successful musicians” and others (in film, Lucas, Pixar) All I’m saying is don’t be fooled by this “we’re all friends, come join us” nonsense…

  13. dang. you sound …
dang. you sound kinda bitter bro. how different is that from what’s going on in washington? the republicans no that ‘real people’ will benefit from health care reform but they don’ want to jeopardize their cash cows. wake up and smell reality.

don’t be such an ass. I know lots of musicians that are very successful. If you’re frustrated with your up life, stop talking like you’re mr. ALL I KNOW.

  15. Great advice and so …
Great advice and so valuable for all musicians to hear. Can’t just have talent. Professionalism is key!

  16. I apply all these …
I apply all these same principles to my career as a National Chart Topping Jazz Guitarist. To make music full time at the pro level you need three things. 1. A good attitude. 2. A good work ethic. 3. Good knowledge and skill on your instrument. If you are missing any one of these… I think you get the idea.

This is what I tell artists how do not want to hear what I have to say. “Don’t get bitter get better!” All of this is in our control Peace!

  17. Clapton’s best band …
Clapton’s best band ever is here: East, Phillinganes, Ferrone

  18. great!!!
    great!!!

  19. Exactly my point! …
Exactly my point! It’s not creative, it’s hard wok, it’s putting up with lots of nonsense. And especially in L.A. it’s all about “better me than you” plus a fake “we’re all friends”. It’s cut-throat. How about putting that in this happy-hand video? No, thousands of kids are being fed this nonsense while the musicians union hall is full of unemployed, great and experienced session players who are starving for work (and had plenty of work in the past). But no, it’s their “attitude”…

  20. @piwinter It’s not …
@piwinter It’s not their business to be creative – when you are a session musician, you play what you’re told you to.

  21. Such self-serving …
Such self-serving BS!! “Attitude, Aptitude, A-players”, bla, bla, bla. While not wrong, its all about being the perfect ‘slave’; the kind of crap they teach you at the MI and other “be all you can be” music schools. There’s much less work out there than there used to be and the good old boys will not share it with anyone, period! Listen to this generic – and actually not creative – stuff they are playing here.
