How do I become a studio teacher in the entertainment industry?

I am currently a sophmore at college in Rhode Island. I am in the education program and recently found out about studio teaching. I am very interested in doing that but I am wondering how to get a job in that kind of teaching if I am going to have a RI teaching degree (a BA to start off with then I will get my masters after college and start work). any information from anyone that would really know about this would be appreciated. thanks.

I would suggest going over the SAG site and checking out their requirements. In order to become a studio teacher/tutor you would have to be hired by a production company or studio, or by an individual actor/model/singer/whatever. However, SAG has pretty specific rules in any state that has a large entertainment industry (NY, CA, etc.)

Get a California Teacher credential, move to Los Angeles and contact Mike Bujko at ASA Talent, he’s the biggest supplier of studio teachers and studio guards and studio medics around.

He’s also a CA public school teacher

But do it fast, he’s thinking about retiring!
