one thing about AKG …
one thing about AKG for me it’s sound very warm & musical, not neutral and classical compare to Neumann . to say simple for me AKG it’s Jazz soul and funk sound and neumann classical or broadcast and shure is rock n roll ^^.
But in terms of …
But in terms of fidelity (sound quality) I`m guessing is the same.
The P 420 is more …
The P 420 is more versatile due to its three different pickup patterns (cardioid, omni-directional and figure-eight). The P 220 is a cardioid-only mic. Both show a true condenser one-inch capsule which is great for recording lead vocals. If you need only the cardioid pickup pattern, the Perception 220 would be the right choice. If you need a more versatile microphone we recommend the P 420 or the P 820 Tube.
