    All guitars sound …
All guitars sound good as long as they have a good set of pickups. Amps are different though.

  2. it’s true they …
it’s true they sounds nearly the same but there is just difference between guitars how they are comfortable material quality and how long you can stay in tune, fret buzz, neck banding and many more, but i totally agree with you about the sound Ive made test week ago on friends guitar for 120€ and my for 730€ and i can say there was almost no difference on same amp.. but when it’s time to play something you can clearly say the one for 700€ its way better in feel its more comfortable. Heh

    The reason your …
The reason your guitars both sounded good is that about 90% of your tone (gear-wise) comes from your amp. A crappy guitar through an amazing amp will sound good. The guitar, in my opinion, matters mainly for feel… Though there are other issues such as number of frets and tuning stability to take into account..

  4. Or you can play a …
Or you can play a good guitar through a BOSS GT-10 into a Roland JC-120

  5. JARI from …
JARI from wintersun would be the best example =D

    very true about …
very true about people spending too much time with gear and not enough practicing. im way guilty of that. i practice drums, but a lot of times i play guitar just to hear the gear. the most important thing about guitar gear is mostly pickups, and tubes. higher quality pickups and about any tube amp, and you’re golden. great video.

  7. Well that matters …
Well that matters to an extent. Try playing a first act with a line6 15watt…horrible…
If you play a 3000$ guitar through a 50$ lunchbox amp it will still sound like shit.

Honestly anything mid level amp and guitar wise is solid. I’ve been playing my 400$ esp and been satisfied completely.

  8. you actually can’t. …
    you actually can’t.

btw, a telecaster can sound more aggressive than a razorback. it’s all about the way you use the guitar.

  9. they make the …
they make the guitar sound . a good amp will make any guitar sound good.

no i ment you can …
no i ment you can defintetlly tell the diffrence between a fender strat and a dean razorback dude i love razorbacks and i think dean makes the best guitars on earth

  13. Valve amps ” …
Valve amps “contemplate” the guitars? Since when did amps gain consciousness?

    “I think, therefore I amp!”

  14. Very true.

    Very true.

Remember that the way something feels is a large part of it, though. If a 2500 dollar guitar feels more comfortable than a 400 dollar guitar in someone else’s hands, then that comfortable aspect might be worth every penny that the person paid for it.

Actually, I’ve been playing my Godin Radiator a lot recently and it actually sounds pretty good right next to my Gibby. It also doesn’t feel too bad, either.

  15. valve amps …
valve amps contemplate the guitars i tried a telecaster with single coils with a jsx amp. btw i record with a roland cube 30x .

    guitars matter alot …
guitars matter alot to me even if there isnt a sound diffrence looks and how a guitar feels matters alot to me example a fender telecaster is gonna sound alot diffrent than a Dean razorback and amps deffiently sound diffrent

  21. And that is the …
And that is the bottom line. Glad you posted this vid. :)

  22. I always say that …
I always say that the main thing in guitar playing is YOUR HANDS! the gear doesn’t matter so much.

  23. fretsofthebeast on April 12th, 2010 at 6:08 am

    i think the …
i think the difference in pickups will make the most of different tones

but yeah as long as you have a good amp, you can make a squire sound like gods axe

    It doesnt matter to …
It doesnt matter to me yet. im still in the baby steps of learning.
