OK...bedroom 555. ...
OK...bedroom 555. Not going to safely produce the the booming lows needed for rap and hip hop for under 300. I know the requirements and you are not going to get by that cheaply. Save a few Euro's then check with the fine folks at Parts Express. They offer pro power amps x-overs, raw drivers and raw subs. Everything you can imagine in DIY loudspeaker building. Their incredible speaker tech. crew will help you achieve your goals affordably, DIY is the answer for young DJ's on a budget.

This is a loud ...
This is a loud combo for pop and rock. To thump the bottom in a small room ...should be ok for these styles... if you are into rap or anything with an artificially enhanced bottom... I would suggest a long throw design in a 15" or a 12" in a tuned enclosier with twice the power.

Another quick tip ...
Another quick tip as I have some time this morning. Acoustically treat your room with foam tiles. The idea is to damp most of the base and trap for sympathetic echo problems. Put alot of furnature behind your listening position to trap more lows. Midrange trapping tiles directly behind your monitors and on the ceiling. Carpet on the floor. A top tip is to keep your monitors at ear level approx. 4 ft. apart in a triangular config. pointing to the back of your head at more than an armslength away.
