Yes for analoge recording you need very high qualiry equipment, that’s why a 15 minute tape, costs 75 Euro something and you can use it for a limited time. Maybe 5 recordings.

  10. dopemcee Says:

analogue on tape cost more than 100 thousand dollars?? seriously???

    OMG!!..thank god for DAWs..lol….

ridiculous thats why before softwares became big there were only few producers in the game…lol..imagine an equipment being 100k to just record….only the rich can afford that…

    I have the toneport …
I have the toneport UX1 & there is a built in Hum reducer. All you do is set your guitar to the noisest pick-up & turn the volume up & hit the Hum reducer button. Then it cuts out the hum

  14. BjerkeRobin Says:

    The thing with …
The thing with active pickups is that they have a much more sensitive transient response and output level, so you’re kinda screwed there if you’re after the active sound, but you can do alot of stuff in gear box.

Again, the hum you hear is probably a amins hum, so it comes from the electrical grid you’re plugged into, there might also be a wiring fault in your pickups. Not much to do there sadly. There is a hum reducer fuction in gear box which might help, other than that you need a gate.

    thanks!
i use a guitar with passive pickups, with the studio pod, will i be able to achieve sound similar to that of actives? and will it also remove the hum from the pickups?
i would really appreciate any help here
    thanks again

  16. BjerkeRobin Says:

you can use it live …
you can use it live, but you need a computer to run the sound modelling software, so it is not ideal. Youcan get a toneport live version as well.

  17. BjerkeRobin Says:

    The toneport UX1, 2 …
The toneport UX1, 2 and 8 have preamps, the same number actually. Only UX2 and 8 have 48V Phantom power, so if you have a condenser you will need one of these.

The toneport is a digital amp modeler, so it simulates the sound of a real amp + cab.
    You can’t use it live.
Line6 live sound is provided with pod and their amps.
