Yes, you can get cheap, and you might get lucky and get decent. There are some talented people starting out that might do a super job, but unfortunately you won't know that until after you've paid. I only started this because my time was being taken advantage of by family and friends. I give 20-30 images on a high res disc. I'm sure if you try Craigslist (or ask around) you can find someone starting out with a reasonable fee as well. Make sure you get a written contract and discuss the terms before giving any money or having your pictures taken. WalMart and JCPenney are good, but they aren't personal, and I think you'd have better luck with an individual.
