Is it a good Idea to build a music studio in Saudi Arabia?
February 232010
I have saved enough money to build my music studio and i was thinkin what if i build the studio in jeddah? and if anyone asks… a music studio is a place were there is a room where muscians can rent it and play/practice some tunes.
oh i forgot about the haram thing with muslims. they dont do much music becouse it get in the way of their praying. (i think, plis correct me if wrong) but what if i only open it to other people, will it still be ok(again, correct me if im wrong)?
Get official approval first from the ministry of information. But honestly I don’t think it’s a good idea. You & ur staff might get harassed and attacted by religious fanatics.

As long as you are willing to start it. It is a good idea. but u have to consult it with the concerned department and obtain a commercial license to run your studio. the best thing is to consult or have the first hand information with economic development department whether this kind of activity is allowed in KSA. if allowed then your dream studio is not far to be exist in reality.

No, do not build this music studio because listening to music is 7aram in Saudi’s religion. And If you are Saudi you should know what is the punishment from your god. And If you are not Saudi you should respect their religion.
With all respect for you and for Saudi people.
Addtion to what I have said:
Yes it is haram, even If you just open it for others, It will still be haram.
The reason for that is if you did not open this studio, the muscians and singers will not find place for singing and now I am sure that you are saying that they can find another studio, my answer is if everyone close his or her studio these people will not find a place for singing. I know that there are many places now, but every body should start with himself because every body is responsible about himself first.
And you should know that if you open this studio, every haram that they will do you will take part from it and your money will be haram and what your eat, drink, and wear will be haram unless if you are intending to open this studio for anasheed or Quran.
Hope you choose the right thing

Open it in Dubai, or Bahrain…
Funny you will get harrassed by the religious folks there in Jeddah, even though everyone else loves and listens to music 24/7… You hear music in the cars, on the streets booming out of the shops, in cell phones, ipods, on TV, everwhere, but "technically" its against the rules.. haha!.. but for the safe side.. go to Dubai or Bahrain..

It say build it in UAE or something. Even though Music is considered haram by many I’ve seen adverts from Saudi using music (i do think it was only percussion though).
EDIT: Yeah, listen to Mintee.
