Home Studio – Making Music

Hi all,

The Shane Diiorio band are putting together their first official album this year and we spent one day recording drums, bass and guitar/vocal guide tracks and we have 8 songs to be released! The band played live so it’s got a live vibe about it.

I am doing my vocal and guitar parts at home now with my little home studio for you to check out.

The clip at the end is a guitar solo attempt that is not getting used for a song called “Driving to a Standstill”.

Any questions feel free to ask?

    Does the D888 have …
Does the D888 have mix-down feature e.g. tracks 1-7 down into 8? I know this must sound like a stupid obvious question but I’m looking to buy the unit and have been looking all over for the answer for days (maybe because it’s a given I don’t know) and even the online manual is a bit confusing on the issue. Many thanks for any help.

    hello

  23. OK thanks man, I’ll …
OK thanks man, I’ll be getting one soon. I guess what I meant by track on track was recording overdubs, but it seems like the Korg D888 is capable of doing that without any latency. And I’ll avoid the Yamaha!

  24. I don’t know what …
I don’t know what you mean by track on track but I own one and I’d recommend them. It’s a good unit and very simple to use. (AVOID THE YAMAHA AW1600! OVERLY COMPLICATED). For the money (£450 in the UK) it’s the best priced unit out there considering what it does. You can record 8 tracks simultaneously, it’s got 64 virtual tracks, it’s got USB. GET THE 40GB VERSION, THEY UPGRADED THE H.D TO 80GB FOR A WHILE, THE FIRMWARE COULDN’T HANDLE THE EXTRA MEMORY. DO NO GET THE 80GB ONE. 40GB IS GREAT.

  25. @goreliscious Ok, …
@goreliscious Ok, I’m looking for a stable system where I can build a song by myself and record track on track without having to correct latency issues. Will the Korg D888 do the job?
