For recording program suggestions, since we are talking about a “home” or “budget” studio, Pro Tools and Logic would NOT be on my list at all! A good cheap recording software package is called “Reaper.”

capoman1…just because u have a home studio doest mean that u shouldn’t or cant use a quality recording program.i have a home studio and i use Pro Tools LE 8 and that is because it’s the norm at any or most studios worldwide not to mention it turns your home studio recordings into really good professional sounding mixes if you know what your doing
