I wish to set up a small music studio. I have a few things which I’ve bought over a number of months. But, I’m not too sure what else I may need to get started.
I have at the moment Cubase 3SX, Oxygen 8 Keyboard, Yamaha TG100 Tone generator.
Is there anything else which I need just to get basically started?
Well, start creating music already. What I think is really needed is a computer and software. Then you get headphones/speakers, midi keyboard, better audio card/amp, microphone, anything you feel like you need it. Buy what you really need and don’t buy anything too expensive. Good luck
I need to know everything I need to make a homemade music studio (in a bedroom). I know that I will need a microphone, but what microphone would be best? What type of recording equipment would be good to purchase? Any information that can be provided, would greatly be appreciated.
Don’t worry about the price, I’ve been through enough to know…"you get what you pay for"…and I want atleast decent quality in my recordings. It will mainly be used for vocal recording over instrumentals.

I bought Acid Music Studio a while back and pretty much never use it, and I’m just wondering if it is legal to sell it on Craigslist or ebay. I read the terms and conditions, but I didn’t see anything about selling the actual program. It covers selling things you make with it, but not the program itself. Anyone know?
sure people do it all the time. just dont copy the program and put it onto a different cd over and over again to keep selling it. then it would b illegal.

I have saved enough money to build my music studio and i was thinkin what if i build the studio in jeddah? and if anyone asks… a music studio is a place were there is a room where muscians can rent it and play/practice some tunes.

Neither of us can play on a real instrument or sing. This video was created out of pure boredom. We know that the quality is terrible – it was shot with a telephone camera. The girl starring in the video is the drummer’s sister. Neither of us is cool enough to get a real girlfriend, even one that is 6(note: we’re not into 6 year olds, no need to call the police).

I want a decent setup, no cheap crap. I currently have and play guitar, piano, bass, and i use Fruity Loops 6 for my drum patterns on my computer. What i am looking to do is to add my vocals and record, not to mention have a nice lil place for me to jam out without everyone in my neighborhood complaining of the sound. I need to know what i need for quality vocal recording, complete with some toys to add reverb and such to my voice. Should i just buy music studio software, or should i buy a vocal trinket, or what? Help please coz i would really like to start recording the songs that i make, but at the same time, want to keep the quality up. What do i need that i dont have? and what is the best way to sound proof?
I recommend continuing to use Fruity Loops for your drum patterns. Pick up a copy of Pro Tools and use it as the main multitrack recording software. You can import your drum patterns from Fruity Loops to Pro Tools. Then record your vocals on Pro Tools. You can use some of their included plugins for reverb on your vocals. There are plenty of great sounding mics available: Neumann, Sontronics, Shure, AKG, Apex etc. You can find a nice selection at http://www.proaudioforless.com Which you choose both depends on your budget and voice characteristics. Then you should get some type of acoustic treatment to eleminate some of the unwanted ambience of the room you’re recording vocals in. See the http://www.auralex.com website for ideas.
